Standard rules for packaging broken LCD displays

1) Before you seal the box with tape, close the lid and shake the box for five seconds. If you can feel the contents moving, add more packaging material.
2) Choose a box with a suitable size for the number of displays to be sent and check reused boxes to make sure they are strong enough and undamaged.

Use enough tape to seal the box well

We strongly recommend packaging no more than 350-400 LCDs or 15.5 kg at most in a box. Make sure the box does not exceed the maximum permissible weight.

If “FRAGILE – GLASS” is clearly written in capitals on each side of the box, the carrier will be more careful with the package.

Packaging with air cushions

The best thing to do is to use the air cushions in which your LCD displays were delivered. The steps for shipment are almost the identical to method without air cushions.

Place the broken LCD displays in air cushions with the flex cables pointing towards the open end of the bag.

Make sets of 10 displays and keep them together with an elastic band. Make sure the elastic band is not so tight that it will damage the displays

Place the sets in the shipping box on a layer of balls of paper and fill up the sides and top of the box with balls of paper to prevent the contents from moving.

Packaging without air cushions

Step 1

Place two LCD displays with the fronts facing one another

Place two sets of two LCDs back-to-back

Step 3

Make a pile of five pairs of LCD displays (so 10 displays altogether). Package each pile in bubble wrap.
Seal the bubble wrap with tape to stop it from opening during shipment. Fill the box with packaging peanuts; these function as shock absorbers.

Step 4

Place the sets wrapped in bubble wrap in the packaging peanuts and make sure they are fully immersed in the peanuts. If you would like to send several layers of sets, protect the layers using a padded envelope, for instance, which will prevent the sets from moving.

Step 5

Put packaging peanuts around the LCD displays and down the inside of the box. This will prevent them from moving and minimise the risk of damage. Seal the box well with tape to prevent it from opening by accident.
